If you havent stopped in to New Albany, MS to check out the awesome railroading action you are missing out. New Albany is home to the Ripley and New Albany shortline as well as the BNSF Birmingham subdivision which runs between Birmingham and Memphis. The Ripley and New Albany was once owned by GM&O then Illinois Central Gulf.

Today the railroad operates just 27 miles of track. The track still runs along the road in town but south of the BNSF line has been turned into a walking trail. The old diamond is actually on display at a local park not far from where it was once installed and used.

The camera and scanner antenna is installed at the WNAU radio station building which is located right next to the "South Peck" location at the 561 mile post on the BNSF line. With the plentiful amount of road crossings in the New Albany area, you can hear trains coming from a decent distance away. Plus the crossing gate in front of the camera is a great indication that a train is approaching.

We hope you enjoy watching the ONLY camera located on this particular line. We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Terry Cook who owns WNAU and has allowed us to do this install. If you happen to be passing through the area make sure to tune your radio to 1470 AM and listen in to their classic hits!
